What a rare and precious gem it is to be truly heard – to have someone listen to the ins and outs of life, of love, of upsets, troubles, awakenings and insights. Someone to keep us company as we dig for gold, for the deeper meanings and clearer understandings of our life experiences is a gift.
True listening (not what we usually do as we tend to focus on remembering what we want to say in response instead of really listening) is a learned skill, then it softens to an art. And like art, improves with practice.
